Monitoring batteries with a shunt is vital for efficient energy management. It helps prevent undercharging or overcharging, which can degrade battery performance and reduce lifespan. Monitoring also helps diagnose battery issues and allows for better planning and optimization of power usage. Suggest reading : What Is A Battery Monitor? Why Do You Need It?
A battery monitor with shunt can provide real-time data on the battery bank's voltage, current, state of charge, state of health, and remaining capacity. It can also measure energy consumption and estimate the time remaining until the battery needs to be recharged.
Yes, LiTime 500A battery monitor with shunt is generally compatible with different types of batteries, including lead-acid, lithium-ion, gel, AGM, and more.
Happy happy
I did not want something I had to hard wire in. I got it to monitor my boat trolling batteries and do not have room in the compartment to add it. FYI I hate the batteries as well always something wrong with them
This takes all the guesswork out of estimating battery SOC - this measures watts in and watts out instead of relying on voltage - which is really hard when the charge controller is sending current to batteries.
Now I have complete peace of mind knowing actual battery position. Easy to install and works.
Works Great with my LiTime 230ah battery and solar setup
Easy enough to install… would be much nicer if the studs were a bit longer so we could easily stack 2 or 3 lugs. Black or neutral grey colour (like many other brands) would be an improvement over bright orange. I appreciate that they actually tell us that it has a plus/minus 1% accuracy.
