FAQ

Why choose a 24V LiFePO4 battery over traditional lead-acid?

LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries offer significant advantages over lead-acid:

  • Longer Lifespan: Lasts significantly longer, rated for 4,000+ cycles (often 10 years of use) compared to just a few hundred cycles for lead-acid.
  • Lighter Weight: Typically 50-60% lighter than a lead-acid battery of the same capacity, making handling and installation easier.
  • Higher Efficiency & Faster Charging: Provides more usable power, charges much faster, and maintains a consistent voltage output.
  • Maintenance-Free: No need to check water levels, clean terminals, or deal with acid spills.
  • Superior Safety: The built-in Battery Management System (BMS) protects against over-charging, over-discharging, and short-circuits.

What is the first thing I should do when I receive my battery?

Your battery may arrive with a partial charge for shipping safety. We recommend giving the battery a full charge immediately using a dedicated LiFePO4 battery charger. This "wakes up" the battery's BMS and ensures it's ready for optimal performance.

My new Bluetooth battery won't connect. Is it broken?

No, this is normal. To maximize safety and shelf life during shipping, Bluetooth models are sent in an "off state" (often showing 3V-5V). You must activate the battery's BMS.

What is the expected lifespan of a 24V LiFePO4 battery?

LiTime 24V LiFePO4 batteries are rated for 4,000+ cycles at 100% Depth of Discharge (DOD). With typical, regular use, this translates to an expected service life of around 10 years.

Are these 24V batteries good for RVs and marine applications?

Absolutely. They are an excellent choice for RVs, off grids, and trolling motors. Their lighter weight, spill-proof design, high safety, and ability to provide consistent deep-cycle power make them a perfect upgrade from lead-acid batteries.

Can I connect multiple 24V batteries together?

Yes, our 24V batteries can be connected in series or parallel to build a larger battery bank.

  • Parallel: (e.g., two 24V 100Ah batteries) -> Creates a 24V 200Ah system.
  • Series: (e.g., two 24V 100Ah batteries) -> Creates a 48V 100Ah system.

IMPORTANT: Connection Rules To ensure safety and proper performance, you must follow these conditions:
Use identical batteries (same capacity, same BMS).
Do not mix LiTime batteries with any other brand.
Only connect batteries purchased at the same time (ideally within one month).

What are the best ways to charge a 24V LiFePO4 battery?

Always use a charging method specifically designed for LiFePO4 chemistry.

  1. LiFePO4 AC-DC Charger: This is the simplest and most recommended method. Use a 24V (or 29.2V) charger with a LiFePO4 profile.
  2. Solar Panels: You must use a solar charge controller (MPPT or PWM) set to the "Lithium" or LiFePO4 charging profile. Never connect solar panels directly to the battery.
  3. Alternator/Generator:DC Output: Use a DC-to-DC charger. This protects both the battery and your alternator.AC Output: Use a compatible AC-to-DC LiFePO4 battery charger.

Is it safe to leave the battery on the charger?

Our LiFePO4 batteries have a built-in BMS that protects against overcharging, and quality chargers also shut off automatically.

  • General Use: It is generally safe for short periods (e.g., overnight).
  • Best Practice: For maximum longevity and safety, we recommend disconnecting the charger once the battery is 100% full.

Is it bad to completely drain a LiFePO4 battery?

It is not recommended to drain the battery to 0% regularly.

While the BMS will protect the battery from over-discharge, frequently discharging it completely can reduce its total lifespan (number of cycles). For optimal battery health, it's best to recharge when it drops to around 20% SOC.

How should I store the battery for a long time?

If you plan to store the battery for an extended period (more than one month):

  1. Charge the battery to approximately 50% SOC.
  2. Store it in a cool, dry place.
  3. To maintain its health, we recommend performing a charge/discharge cycle every three months.
